How to Install IPTV on Chromecast with Google TV: A Step-by-Step Guide

If you’re looking to set up IPTV on your Chromecast with Google TV, this guide will walk you through the process. Follow these easy steps to enjoy a wide variety of IPTV content on your Chromecast.

Step 1: Install the Downloader App

  • Navigate to the Home Screen: Start by going to your Chromecast with Google TV home screen. Select the “Apps” section.
  • Search for the Downloader App: Scroll down, click on the search box, and type “Downloader” in the search bar.
  • Install the Downloader App: Once you find the Downloader app, select it and click Install.

Step 2: Enable Developer Options

  • Open Settings: Press the home button on your remote, then click on the settings icon in the top right corner.
  • Go to System Settings: Scroll down and select System from the menu.
  • Enable Developer Options: Under About, scroll down to find Android TV OS build. Click on this option several times until you see the message, “You are now a developer”.

Step 3: Allow Unknown Sources

  • Return to Settings: Go back to the main settings menu.
  • Enable Unknown Sources: Scroll to Security & Restrictions, and allow installations from unknown sources for the Downloader app. This step is essential for downloading third-party apps.

Step 4: Install IPTV Smarters Pro

  • Launch the Downloader App: Open the Downloader app on your Chromecast.
  • Download IPTV Smarters Pro: In the Downloader app, enter the short code 78522 to download IPTV Smarters Pro. After entering the code, click Go.

Step 5: Set Up IPTV Smarters Pro

  • Open IPTV Smarters Pro: Once the app is installed, open it and choose the login option with Xtream Codes API (it’s the third option).
  • Enter Subscription Details: You’ll need to input your IPTV subscription details provided by your IPTV service provider. The first field can be anything, but make sure you don’t make any typing mistakes. Also, ensure that the server URL is HTTP (not HTTPS).
